Assessment and Accountability: Back to the Future

The Canadian Institutional Research and Planning Association is hosting its 21st annual conference in Montréal, Québec between October 21st and 23rd, 2012. CIRPA convenes annually as a community of professionals dedicated to institutional research and planning in the postsecondary education sector. CIRPA welcomes proposal submissions from professionals in the field; proposals from colleagues at provincial, regional and federal agencies, other associations and organizations; as well as from individual scholars with pertinent research interests.

The theme for the 2012 conference, Assessment and Accountability: Back to the Future, reflects issues of interest to the public, governments, and institutions that have persisted across time, and that are very much in today’s headlines. CIRPA encourages submissions that address conceptual, methodological, and practical challenges and opportunities in the way colleges and universities assess their performance and account for the fulfillment of their missions. Presentations will stimulate new conversations and an exchange of ideas that will inform and invigorate the profession as it rises to meet these new, old challenges. CIRPA encourages returning and first‐time presenters to submit proposals.

The sights, sounds, tastes, and experiences of Montréal will welcome you to a great conference in a great city that you won’t want to miss! We look forward to receiving your submissions and seeing you in Montréal!

Lucie Durand, Université de Montréal, Conference Co‐Chair (Local Arrangements Committee)
